BibleTalk with Jeff Asher
BibleTalk with Jeff Asher began in 1988 as a call-in radio broadcast which aired for ten years on KGNC in Amarillo, TX. Later it moved to the internet as a website for articles, class materials, sermon outlines and debates to be downloaded for use all over the world. Now, BibleTalk is still growing and changing, being a podcast for audio and, eventually, video Bible study resources.

The Bible can be divided into 15 periods of Bible History. Recognizing these divisions is helpful for organizing the Bible chronologically in the mind and relating the various books to one another. The fourth of these 15 Periods is called the Period of Egyptian Bondage. This period extends from the Death of Joseph until the Exodus (Exodus 1:1-15:22).

When we pray, we acknowledge the that we are in the presence of God. We enter our closet and kneel before the Creator of Heaven and earth. However, we do not arise and leave God in the closet. Our prayers should compel us to remember that we live before the living God who sees in secret. He sees us in the closet of prayer, in the dark of night, in the very recesses of our hearts.

The fact that without holiness we cannot see God demands that we continue to be holy whatever the cost. The fact that we will appear in judgment before God leads us to strive to be holy. We want to be remain holy because of the exorbitant price that was paid in order to obtain our holiness. We want to remain holy because otherwise there is no hope at all. Finally, we want to be found holy because we made a commitment to do so.

Prayer can seem like such a small thing.Jesus said when you pray enter into your closet So it's just me in my closet praying to God, but no, it's not just me. It's me and it's you, and it's the entire universe because we invoke the name of God who is in heaven.
So, prayer is indeed a big thing. We need to realize when we pray, we are invoking the name of the Creator of heaven and earth. We are invoking the great God of all mankind.

The Bible can be divided into 15 periods of Bible History. Recognizing these divisions is helpful for organizing the Bible chronologically in the mind and relating the various books to one another. The third of these 15 Periods is called the Patriarchal Period, or the Period of the Fathers of Israel. This period extends from the call of Abraham to leave Ur of the Chaldees to the Death of Joseph (Genesis 11:31-50:26).
