An Eternal Plan for Eternal Life (1 Peter 1:10-12)

Having identified our eternal salvation as one of three purposes for which the saints endure suffering, Peter digresses to discuss that great salvation from the perspective of its revelation by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit guided the OT prophets into a partial understanding of the great mystery of redemption. Neither the prophets nor the angels of heaven fully understand the wonders of God's eternal purpose. It was left to the Apostles to have the exalted privilege of revealing the complete plan of God to redeem all men in Jesus Christ.
