Specific Authority
When we visit the doctor, we understand that in order for him to make a diagnosis we must be specific. It is not enough to say, "I hurt." We must give the doctor a clear and precise indication of our complaint. Likewise, when giving direction to others and expecting a certain outcome we must give specific instructions regarding what we intend to be done. We all understand specific authority, use it every day with our employees, children, and friends. Similarly, God uses specific authority with us in the Scriptures.
