Zephaniah 1:4-12

The prophet Zephaniah announces judgment upon Judah and Jerusalem. The Day of the Lord will come upon them: those that worship the Baal, those that worship the Ashtoreth, those that pass their children through the fire to Moloch, and those that have turned away from the Lord. God has prepared these for a sacrifice and summoned their enemies to come and feast upon the king, his sons, all the self-serving court and the corrupt merchants of the land. Judgment is upon all those that oppress and forget God.  

Making Connections (Ira Lynn)

Ira Lynn leads a study from Ephesians 4:1-16 in which he considers making connections with God's people. Sin fractured our connection with God. It drove a wedge between God and Adam, it caused friction between Adam and Eve; it eventually led to murder and every other cause of alienation in our world. But in Jesus Christ we can walk with God and learn to walk with each other in the unity of the Spirit.

Trading Your Soul (Ira Lynn)

Life is a process of trading one thing for another. The scary thing is that we end up trading our lives for things that simply do not matter, or even worse for things that can cause us a great deal of harm. Sometimes the bad bargain we make is so pivotal that it can affect the rest of life, even reaching unto eternity. If you trade your life for God's Kingdom and His purposes, you will be satisfied with that which no one can take from you. I Am the Good Shepherd (John 10:1-21)

Jesus leaves the Temple on the day following the Feast of Tabernacles. On His way out, He encountered the man born blind whom He healed. This aroused a great stir among the Jews. After reproving the leaders for their willful spiritual blindness (John 9:39-41), the Lord delivers one last discourse, an allegory based upon the OT figures of the Good Shepherd (Zechariah 11:4-14; 13:7; Ezekiel 34:23-24; 37:24-25). Jesus says, "I am the Good Shepherd." What does it mean to have the Lord as our shepherd and to be the sheep of his pasture? 

The Conversion of Sergius Paulus

One of the most overlooked cases of conversion recorded in Acts. This case study reveals an outstanding man who is the exemplar of every man converted to Christ. Sergius Paulus was a "prudent man" who overcame opposition, prejudice, and false counsel to become a disciple of Christ. 

Zephaniah 1:2-3

Zephaniah announces the Day of the Lord; however, when and where does this day occur. Is Zephaniah considering the Last Day or another day? Are his words describing the end of time, the final judgment, or another judgment which Judah and the world will face? 

The New Covenant (Ira Lynn)

God has divorced His people Israel because they have broken their covenant with Him. However, God still loves Israel and will take them back as His with a new covenant, different and better than the covenant He made with them before.  Ira Lynn considers the promise of the new covenant which was not only a message of hope to Israel but us who will be faithful to God even today. Their story is our story in the Gospel.
